You can prepare the tools below for this presentation:

To follow along with my tutorial, you'll need a few basic tools: a pencil, a ruler (an L-shaped, quilting, or triangle ruler), and some paper for drafting, such as dressmaking paper, brown paper, printer paper, or whatever you have on hand.

You’ll also need a pair of paper scissors and some tracing paper for creating your final pattern pieces (baking or parchment paper works great for this, too).

Hi, I'm Monika – a self-taught bag designer and pattern drafting nerd who loves turning 2D sketches into 3D creations. I started sewing in my teens (mainly because nothing fit me properly!), but it wasn't until years later that I fell in love with bag-making. What began as a one-off project for a friend turned into a full-blown passion – and now I teach others how to design and draft their own custom bag patterns from scratch.


I love sharing everything I've learned with fellow makers, especially those just starting out. Whether it's breaking down tricky techniques or helping someone understand not just how to do something, but 'why' it works that way, is my absolute favourite part of teaching.
